Welcome to craftswithcare!

Doll-making is my hobby. I sell most of my dolls on eBay and Etsy, except for a few which I give as gifts to family and friends.

I started out making my first cloth doll a few years ago. I have always loved cloth dolls and it had always been my wish to create my own dolls someday.

Nowadays I also make dolls using different media like paper clay, wood, felt etc. Some of my paper clay doll designs are inspired by Izannah Walker and other famous doll makers of yore. Most of my paper clay and wood dolls are one-of-a-kind. For my cloth dolls, I buy small quantities of fabrics at a time, so no two dolls will be alike. I also experiment with various doll-making techniques of my own.

I also enjoy collecting antique dolls, and reading and researching about different kinds of dolls.

The picture above is not a doll from days gone by, but a photo of my mother when she was a baby!

Exploring Seattle!

We were out all day yesterday enjoying the warm sunny weather in Seattle. We went to the Space Needle. The view from the top was just breathtaking.

After that we went treasure hunting. We bought some very nice books on art. Hubby loves to cook and got a few cookbooks. Yes I am lucky, I don't cook on weekends and get gourmet food made at home without doing much work!

Look what we found at the rummage sale hiding in a corner...a beautiful old doll. I still don't know the maker and need to do some research regarding it. She has a few crazing lines on her face and body but is otherwise in perfect condition. She has sleep eyes and a jointed body.

While we explored Seattle, Miss Roxy went to her best friends' place and played with them.

Hi Mithua

Wow that is breathtaking! What a beautiful view from way up there. Looking at all the water makes me wish I had a boat.
What an adorable little dollie you found!

Oh no Mae, not you too..LOL...This is the third time I got tagged within 24 hours..

Thanks for the tag!

Hugs,
Mithua

P.S. The doll didn't cost us a single penny:). We got her from a rummage sale...Anything we could fit into a grocery bag was only $2.00.

Hi Mithua...

You poor girl, I didn't know you had been tagged so much!
Everyone likes you and felt the need to tag you but I truly understand those tags can be a pain.
So thats why I deleted the post and tag on my blog.

Blessings, Mae

Mae, your tag would have been fun though! I know of so many phrases my mom used to say and still does.

Hugs,
Mithua
